TC Trustees Appoint Lesley Ledwell Dukelow to Fill Place 2 Vacancy on Board

The Texarkana College Board of Trustees met today to deliberate the appointment of a trustee to fill Place 2 vacancy. TC Trustees approved the appointment of Lesley Ledwell Dukelow to serve until the end of the term. The vacancy on the board came as a result of Trustee Jane Daines’ resignation on September 23, 2019.

Kyle Davis, TC board president, said Ledwell Dukelow was chosen as the replacement because of her leadership within the region’s business community and insight on economic development.

“As TC grows its workforce training programs and continues to strengthen training relationships with regional employers, Lesley’s insight will be invaluable to helping the Trustees and the college make pivotal decisions,” said Davis. “We are pleased to welcome her onto the Board and grateful for her willingness to serve.”

Dr. Jason Smith, TC college president, said he is delighted to learn of the Board’s appointment.

“Lesley is forward thinking and has tremendous workforce expertise,” said Smith. “When you look at the business landscape in our region you see her family’s business as a model of success. I am looking forward to working with Lesley as we continue to build on TC’s success.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ledwell Dukelow was sworn into office by Dr. Smith to serve in the Place 2 position of the Board with a term ending in 2022. At the end of the term, the new appointee may elect to run for the full six-year term of Place 2.
