A Vision Board Party will be held at Texarkana College at 6 p.m. October 16 in the Leadership Classroom Palmer Memorial Library.

This is the college’s second Vision Board Party. The first was held January 2016 in celebration of the new year.

“It was such a success we wanted to be sure to have the opportunity again,” said TC Library Instructor Lamoya Burks.

Burks said the inspiration to have a Vision Board Party was to encourage students “to take time to think about goals, recharge, and revitalize who they are and what they desire as students but overall as a person.”

Participants may bring magazine and scrapbook material.

Burks, who is also an adjunct instructor at TC, said she hopes students will take something away from the Vision Board Party.

“The outcome is for students to become aware that the library is an inviting place that supports them; our campus and its staff are here to help students enjoy the college experience,” she said. “The journey of the experience has its bumps in the road, but we want to encourage their strengths. This event reminds them to enjoy and focus on their goals. Completion can be sought here – just connect.”
