Part-time Operation Assistant – Aviation Mechanics
Texarkana College is seeking a dedicated and organized Part-Time Assistant to support the Aviation Mechanics Program. The assistant will help faculty and staff ensure the smooth operation of academic, lab, and administrative functions. This role is ideal for someone with a background or interest in aviation, education, or technical training.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail
Experience:
- Experience or coursework in aviation, mechanics, or technical programs
- Previous work in an academic or training environment
- Familiarity with FAA Part 147 program requirements (a plus, but not required)
- Adobe Premier Pro
- Podcasting experience/familiarity
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide clerical and administrative support to program faculty and staff
- Order parts, materials, and tooling as needed
- Help maintain safety and cleanliness standards in instructional areas
- Assist in student communications and recordkeeping, including attendance tracking and document organization
- Own social media production, docuseries production, podcast production and digital content
- Own program outreach efforts, tours, and recruitment events
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program success
- Own employee onboarding process and procedures
- Own new students onboarding process and procedures
Working Conditions:
- On-campus work required; occasional work in labs, hangars, or outdoor settings
- May involve standing, lifting (up to 30 lbs), and walking in technical environments
- Flexible hours within program needs and assistant availability
Salary:
Commensurate within the Texarkana College pay scale for position.
