This position requires a self-motivated team member to provide technical support to end-users. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technology. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining computer systems, and providing technical support to end-users.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent industry certification required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in a technical support role
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications
- Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and other server technologies is a plus
Experience:
- This is an entry level position. The primary qualification is existing experience in a technical support role.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide solutions
- Install and configure software and hardware components
- Maintain computer systems and ensure they are up-to-date and functioning properly
- Monitor and maintain printers, scanners, and other peripherals
- Set up and maintain user accounts and access permissions
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues
- Document technical procedures and create user manuals
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry
Salary:
Commensurate within the Texarkana College pay scale for position.
