The primary goal of Admissions and Recruitment Services is to attract new students to Texarkana College.  This goal is accomplished through activities including, but not limited to: high school visits, school presentations, participation in college fairs, coordinated campus visits, and a written communication system (regular mailings). Admissions and Recruitment Services is also responsible for assisting with departmental recruitment efforts and community outreach.

Texarkana College’s Recruitment Services provides pre-college information and admissions assistance for students attending over 40 high schools within the Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas areas. Our goal is to provide a seamless transition for high school students into postsecondary education and facilitates an informed and convenient college entry process. Another avenue of our recruitment is broadened by reaching out to non-traditional populations who are seeking educational or occupational opportunities.

Admissions and Recruitment Services provides information to high school students, parents, and the community to educate and promote the value of a life-long education and to recognize Texarkana College as a valuable and viable educational option. We are also dedicated to maximizing student and community access to Texarkana College and providing information and support for the transition to college regardless of background, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, or age.

Our goals are to:

  • PROVIDE TIMELY INFORMATION about the college, its policies, procedures for admissions and enrollment.
  • PROVIDE SUPPORT, ASSISTANCE, GUIDANCE AND RESOURCES for potential students to meet their higher education aspirations.
  • EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY about Texarkana College and its programs and benefits through presentations, personal contacts and mailings.
  • WORK AS A TEAM with TC faculty, staff, and former students to attract new students.
  • FOSTER AWARENESS, PROMOTE AND SUPPORT a culture of higher education in the College’s service area through outreach and recruiting activities including: college/career fairs, business fairs, outreach presentations, and high school visits.

Campus Tours

Admissions and Recruitment Services provides campus tours by appointment only. You may Schedule Your Campus Tour Here to complete a Campus Tour Request Form.  A student recruiter or a representative will contact you within two (2) business days via email or telephone to discuss appointment availability and to also confirm your tour. Remember to bring a photo ID with you for academic advising.

Walk-ins for campus tours may be accepted; however, only upon the availability of the student recruiter & recruitment representatives. We invite you to come see for yourself everything that Texarkana College has to offer! Please note that campus tours are not available when the college is closed for holidays and weekends.

CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULINGS: If you need to cancel or reschedule a tour, please contact a student recruiter at 903-823-3059 or email us at admissions@texarkanacollege.edu at least one (1) day in advance so that we may rearrange our schedules accordingly. Please feel free to use our campus tour request form to reschedule a more convenient time for you to visit.

ARRIVING LATE FOR YOUR TOUR:  We are happy to wait if you see that you will be arriving late for your tour. However, there may be others who have already arrived early and are waiting to start their tour. In order to ensure that there is adequate time and attention for every scheduled tour, we ask that you notify our student recruiters at 903-823-3059 or 903-823-3200 if you see that you will be more than 15 minutes late past your scheduled tour time. We reserve the right to automatically cancel your tour if you do not notify the recruiter that you are going to be late and it has been more than 15 minutes past your schedule tour time. 

Customer service is our goal! Please take a moment after your campus tour to complete the short survey in your welcome bag.

Make the most of your campus tour by

  • Wearing comfortable shoes…some tours may consist of walking longer distances on campus.
  • Checking the local weather…tours are given in rain or shine! Bring a jacket or umbrella (if needed).
  • Asking questions…tours may consist of one-on-one interaction with our wonderful faculty and staff, so feel free to prepare questions in advance.
  • Visiting the TC Bookstore and Bulldog Bistro…can’t wait to be a Bulldog? Feel free to purchase items from our bookstore or enjoy a wonderful meal after your tour.
  • Please check in at the Welcome Desk, located on the 1st floor of the Administration Building. You will then receive…a TC Welcome bag filled with information and a pen so that you can take notes of important information you may need later.

Informative Sessions

Admissions and Recruitment Services hosts informative sessions for prospective students and guests to learn more about undergraduate degrees and programs, testing, admissions requirements, financial aid, scholarships, housing, and student life. An informative session can last 1-2 hours and includes a campus tour.

Groups of 10 or more may request to have a special informative session.  Sessions are available Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and can be scheduled by emailing admissions@texarkanacollege.edu.

Outreach Presentations

Outreach presentations are ways for our recruiters to educate the community and prospective students about Texarkana College and its program benefits!  Our student recruiters are very happy to provide information to adults, community members, high school students, and kids.

Have a group that’s not high school seniors yet? Schedule an outreach presentation with us today! We provide tailored presentations that help inform and prepare students about our campus and college preparedness.

Are you an adult who wants to complete or obtain your college degree or certificate? We’re here to help you every step of the way. We provide tailored presentations that will give you helpful information to prepare you for academic advising, admissions, and financial aid.

Outreach presentations can be scheduled by emailing admissions@texarkanacollege.edu. Note: Please schedule presentations at least 2 weeks in advance to allow time for adequate scheduling and preparation.
