“Knowing that every day will be a new experience is my favorite part of my job.”
Sandy Francis has been doing her part to help students be successful at Texarkana College for 25 years. After spending her first five years in the business office, she moved to the Natural Science and Technology Division, where she has worked as an administrative assistant to Dr. Royce Granberry for the past 20 years.
The Natural Science and Technology Division is home to a variety of programs, from agricultural sciences, chemistry and biology to auto body repair, auto technology, small engines and culinary arts. TC’s 360-acre farm also falls under the responsibility of her division.
“When you are responsible for so many different areas, your job never becomes boring,” Sandy said.
Sometimes the amount of paperwork involved feels never ending; Sandy knows that she couldn’t do it all without staying organized and coming to work with a smile on her face.
A lover of horses and nature, when Sandy needs an escape from the office she turns to her favorite hobby combining the two – trail riding.
“My husband and I travel with our friends to the most beautiful mountains and streams,” she said. “It is truly a way to leave reality behind and just enjoy nature and the love of your friends!”
