Congratulations to Dr. Ronda Dozier on Winning the Texas Association of College Technical Educators’ Leadership Award

Dr. Ronda Dozier receiving the 2024 TACTE Leadership AwardToday at the Texas Association of College Technical Educators’ (TACTE) Annual Conference in Grapevine, TX, Dr. Ronda Dozier, Professor and Cosmetology Program Coordinator at Texarkana College, was named the recipient of the prestigious Lindle Grigsby Award. The award was created in 2012 to recognize a member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in career and technical education programs and dedication to the organization.

Brandon Washington, Vice President of Operations and Dean of Workforce and Community & Business Education at TC, nominated Dr. Dozier for the award. As part of the nomination process, Mr. Washington said, “Dr. Dozier’s work ethic and leadership skills are unmatched as she has played a big role in the many successes in TC’s Workforce Education Division and the college in general. She is a hard worker and works diligently on any project handed to her. These projects go above and beyond Texarkana College. She works nonstop balancing time in a position with Western Governors University where she received her doctoral degree, as a board member with state committees such as Texas Association of College Technical Educators, and the Workforce Education Course Manual committee that works to develop workforce education and curriculum, not just for Texarkana College but for community colleges across the entire state.”

Within TC’s Cosmetology program, Mr. Washington said, “Every single aspect about the programs is organized, structured, and faculty and staff members have clear expectations of what their roles and responsibilities are. Most importantly, students are successful because she leads initiatives to develop them into better people.”

Within the institution, Dr. Dozier previously held the position of Dean of Workforce and Community & Business Education. She has been instrumental in starting the TC Food Pantry, Care Closet, an Academic Prep program for low performing enrollees, and a Professionalism and Work Ethics course designed to address all of the industry needs for the ideal entry level employee. This course has since been duplicated at community colleges across the state.

Congratulations to Dr. Ronda Dozier on her outstanding accomplishments and for receiving the TACTE Leadership Award. Texarkana College is very grateful for her dedication to student success and her wealth of knowledge and experience that she has shown toward the development of career ant technical education at TC and across the entire state.
