Texarkana College Testing Center Awarded DANTES CLEP Contract to Serve Military Community

Texarkana College is proud to announce that its Testing Center has been awarded a contract to offer DANTES-funded College-Level Examination Program (CLEP®) testing, expanding educational opportunities for military-affiliated individuals in the region.

Through this partnership with the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), Texarkana College will provide eligible servicemembers access to CLEP exams designed to help them earn college credit for knowledge gained through military training, work experience, and prior education. The CLEP program enables participants to accelerate degree completion, reduce time spent in the classroom, and lower overall education costs.

DANTES, a Department of Defense program, supports military personnel pursuing higher education by funding CLEP exams for qualified individuals. These exams allow participants to demonstrate existing knowledge across a wide range of subject areas, helping them bypass traditional coursework and move more quickly toward their academic and career goals.

As a DANTES-funded testing site, the Texarkana College Testing Center will:

Provide access to CLEP exams that allow eligible individuals to earn college credit for prior learning
Support military learners seeking to complete degrees more efficiently
Offer a convenient, local option for testing within the Texarkana region

Eligible service members may have their exam fees covered by DANTES for their initial attempt per subject, significantly reducing out-of-pocket costs and making higher education more accessible.

The program is available to active-duty military members, National Guard and Reserve personnel, and other eligible participants, with additional education benefits available through military programs such as the GI Bill.
