TC Board Reviews #1 State Completion Ranking, Texarkana Airshow
The Texarkana College Board of Trustees met Monday to receive a report highlighting the College’s continued success in student completion and its leadership role in an upcoming regional aviation event.
Texarkana College continued to distinguish itself as a statewide leader in student success, ranking #1 in Texas for 3-year student completion rates, according to the most recent data released by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The College achieved a 61.8% 3-year completion rate, significantly exceeding the state average of 31.3%, and also ranked among the top institutions in 4-year and 6-year completion measures.
This achievement reflected a long-standing commitment to student success. Texarkana College had ranked among the top-performing community colleges in Texas for more than a decade, including multiple years earning the #1 position in key completion categories.
Completion rates at Texarkana College have continued to rise in recent years, demonstrating sustained momentum and effectiveness in helping students reach their academic goals.
“This recognition reflects the incredible dedication of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Jason Smith, President of Texarkana College. “We are extremely proud of the commitment across our campus to student success and completion. Every day, our team works to ensure students are supported, encouraged, and equipped to achieve their educational goals and fulfill their dreams.”
Texarkana College’s success also aligned with the state’s long-term higher education initiative, known as the 60x30TX plan, which calls for 60% of Texans ages 25 to 34 to earn a college degree or credential by 2030. Through its strong completion outcomes, Texarkana College continued to meet and help lead the state’s vision for a more educated workforce.
In addition to the completion report, trustees received an update on the upcoming Texarkana Airshow. Dani Hamblett of For All Brand Kind served as a guest presenter at the meeting, sharing details about the airshow, marketing strategy, and community engagement efforts.
The Texarkana Airshow is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Texarkana Regional Airport. Brandon Sanders, Texarkana College’s Director of Aviation, has served as the visionary behind the event.
Attendees can look forward to aerial performances, military demonstrations, live music, a runway 5K, barbecue competition, and a twilight show by the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team.
