About Finish Strong
The Just Start Scholarship is for non-traditional students – students who are not coming to Texarkana College while in or immediately following high school.
A TC Donor has made it possible for students who have almost completed a degree or certificate at Texarkana College to finish with their tuition and fees covered.
Complete ALL of the steps below by July 18, 2025 to receive the Just Start Scholarship offer.
Just Start Registration Checklist
The first step to continuing your college journey is simple, applying online. If you need assistance, contact Taylor Richard at 903-823-3384 or by email here.
If you’ve earned credit or taken classes at any other college since you last attended TC,
we need official transcripts to apply toward your degree or certificate at Texarkana College. Submit your transcripts electronically, by paper mail, or in person to the Nelson Administration Building on campus.

Immunization Records:
- Students under the age of 22 will not be allowed to register without proof of current bacterial meningitis vaccination. This may be mailed to the Office of Admissions or delivered in person to the Nelson Administration Building on campus. Explore more information on this requirement and review a waiver option from the bacterial meningitis vaccination.
Once you’ve applied and submitted transcripts and shot records, you should receive an admissions acceptance letter or email from Texarkana College to the email you used to submit your admissions application. Receiving this letter or email indicates that you have been accepted to Texarkana College, and at this point you are able to apply for financial aid.

Meet with an advisor to discuss your current degree plan, testing needs, and register for classes.
Visit our Financial Aid department and review the terms of your Just Start Scholarship. Once you review the terms, you will sign the scholarship agreement indicating you agree to follow the requirements.
Our Financial Aid department is located within our Nelson Administration Building at 2500 North Robison Road, Texarkana, TX 75599.
If you do not complete the checklist and register for classes by July 18, 2025, you will no longer be eligible for the Just Start Scholarship opportunity.

Counseling Services
We have an on campus counselor available to help you tackle any problems you may be facing in life. Services are offered to TC students, faculty, and staff.
Childcare Assistance
