Power Outage on Main TC Campus – September 26, 2016
UPDATE – 3:35pm – Effective 4pm today, 9/26/16, all classes at TC this evening will meet as scheduled except for welding on main campus. All classes tomorrow will meet as normal.
Texarkana College has cancelled all day classes for Monday, September 26, 2016, due to interruption in SWEPCO electric power service. The outage is impacting some, but not all of TC’s buildings on the main campus. However, due to many of our students who take classes in different buildings throughout the day, and acting with an abundance of caution, TC officials have decided to cancel ALL DAY CLASSES at this time. The campus closure includes all day activities scheduled for the Pinkerton Center and other main campus activities.
Also impacted are High School Dual Credit students who travel to the Texarkana College main campus. TC officials have notified all ISDs who participate in dual credit of the campus closure and have asked affected students to remain on their high school campus today instead of travel to the TC campus.
If service is resumed by early afternoon, TC will hold evening classes as scheduled on the main campus. TC students will be notified of decisions to resume classes via our emergency notification system (RAVE ALERT), and also by email, social media (TC Facebook page), and TC website at www.texarkanacollege.edu.
Please note: this closure only impacts classes held on the main Texarkana College campus in Texarkana. Classes at learning sites in Atlanta, Texas, and at the TexAmericas site are not impacted.
In addition, the Texarkana College Board of Trustees meeting will continue to be held in the Palmer Memorial Library in the Upstairs Conference Room.
