Information for Tax Year 2020
Beginning in tax year 2018, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) required institutions to report payments of qualified tuition and related expenses in Box 1 of the 1098-T tax form. Please note that the amount you paid in 2020 might not be what is reported to the IRS due to the requirement that the payment must be for qualified items. Bookstore payments, Continuing Education payments, student liability insurance and some other items on your student accounts might not qualify and will not be reported as payments on your 1098T.
All students eligible for a 1098-T form:
- Will be able to view and print their 1098T form online using the above instructions; once you elect “Electronic Delivery” as your option.
- If you do not elect “Electronic Delivery” as your option, your 1098T form was mailed on 1/28/21.
