Concentration in Chemistry

The Chemistry program offers a number of career options by providing students with the opportunity to earn an Associate of Science in Chemistry degree. Most of our graduates continue their education in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other natural sciences.

A background in chemistry could lead to many pre-professional programs:

Medicine
Dentistry
Optometry
Pharmacy
Veterinary medicine

Other career options include working in industrial or governmental laboratories or teaching in public schools.

The Chemistry program consists of 63 hours of coursework, which includes general education courses and commonly takes four semesters to complete. Chemistry courses range from an introductory course to the complex study of organic chemistry.
