Who We Serve

In the fall semester, TC gives College Forward a list of students to work with for the year. If you qualify for the program, your College Forward coach will reach out to you by August or September.

If you do not hear from us but still want to join, don’t hesitate to reach out — we don’t turn away interested students!

Mission and Vision

Our Mission:  College Forward coaches underserved, motivated students to achieve the benefits of higher education and a college degree.

Our Vision: We will lead by building and sharing the most effective, most efficient, and most exciting college access and completion programs in the country.

Our History

Founded in 2003 as a college access program serving 30 students, College Forward has constantly evolved its program model to better meet the needs of the students and families we serve. Our focus on student experiences has fueled the development of innovative and successful program models – in 2005 we added college completion services, and in 2014 launched our “Success Partnerships” initiative, placing our coaches directly on community college campuses.

How We Got to TC

In support of our Success Partnerships initiative, College Forward staff members traveled the state to find school partners with a desire for our services. In 2016 we found a partner in TC, who was looking for a mentor program for its students. The partnership was officially announced in Spring 2016, and we came onto campus in August 2016.
