Barbell Butterfly owner and founder Lynn Cofield presented the first Barbell Butterfly Scholarship on Tuesday, July 11 at a ceremony in the lobby of the Nelson Administration Building. The recipient, Amanda Janson, is a business administration student at Texarkana College. Janson currently works at a local bank and said she knows that an education will open doors for advancement.
“The Barbell Butterfly scholarship is designed to help women who are working hard to get an education and build better lives for their families,” said Katie Andrus, Director of the Texarkana College Foundation. “We are so grateful to Lynn Cofield and Barbell Butterfly for making an investment in our students.”
Barbell Butterfly is a weight loss and nutrition program focused on empowering women. The program combines nutrition instruction and group strength training to help women lose weight in a supportive and encouraging environment. Lynn Cofield, the mastermind behind the Barbell Butterfly program, transformed her lifestyle and lost 123 pounds naturally by eating well and lifting weights.
