The following protocol utilizes Microsoft Outlook Express 5, which is a easy to use E-mail client that is a part of the Windows 98 operating system.

Just Click the Start button and scroll on Programs to find Outlook Express...
Your starting page will look like this...
You can add your "identity" to the program so you can get your TC mail.

Assuming you already have an Internet Service Provider  (ISP) that you can dial up with a modem from your home this will allow the program to utilize the outgoing mail address of your ISP (i.e. aol.com, flash.net, txk.net etc.)

this is so simple even a biologist can do it!

You should now be able to access your TC email from your home computer.
If you want to access multiple mailboxes (i.e., your private e-mail from other accounts) using Microsoft Outlook Express 5 Click here to go to PART 2

One more thing...
If you want to leave your mail at TC on the TC server so you can access it when you get back to the office you will need to do one more thing...

Open Tools > Accounts> and click on the Properties button on the right. Next select the Advanced tab at the top of the window and check the box "Leave a copy of messages on server"

If you have any problems just send me a note and I will see what I can do.  mstorey@tc.cc.tx.us
