My name is Patricia Palko and I am a doctoral candidate at the University Of Denver Department Of Biological Sciences conducting a study investigating how 9-12 teachers think about evolution.  Although there have been recent studies investigating the teaching of evolution in classrooms, I am conducting an anonymous study that seeks to explore high school biology teachers' understandings of the topic.  To participate, teachers take an anonymous survey that takes most respondents about 15 minutes to complete.

Teachers will be rewarded for their time with a $5.00 gift card of their choice (any personal information they choose to provide in order to receive the gift card will in no way be linked to their survey responses) and access to questions about evolution that they can use to assess how their students think about the topic.  The results of this survey will be used to create a set of curricula to help correct any misconceptions that teachers possess about evolution and to better prepare them to address the subject in their classrooms.  Teachers interested in participating can go to:
