1999 - 2000

We formed the Biological Sciences Club during the Fall of 1999 at TC.  We were led by some great officers, Terri Yates served as our first President,  Britany Coker V.P. and her sister Courtney Coker served as our Secretary. We had several opportunities to learn from professionals in several areas of the Life Sciences.

On March 31st, we visited with 
Mr.Pat Evans and Gaylene Mooney
Respiratory Therapy Program
University of Arkansas Medical Sciences - AHEC-SW
Texarkana, AR.

We learned a great deal about the Registered and Certified Respiratory Therapy career opportunities in our region. Thanks Pat & Gaylene for a great presentation.

On Friday, March 3rd we visited with Dr. Donald Fournier M.D. Epidemiologist.  Dr. Fournier is an Allergist in private practice in Texarkana as well as on the Faculty at LSUS Medical School.

We all learned a great deal from our visit concerning the "Medical School" experience and a variety of immunological topics.

We all learned a geat deal and a good time was enjoyed by all. Thank you Dr. Fournier for taking time out of your very busy schedule to be with us!


On Friday February 18, 2000
We visited  with Ms. Tammy Henderson who is the  Director of Human Resources  at St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital.  We learned a great deal about the health care hiring practices and needs of the Texarkana area.  The meeting was very informative for all in attendance.



Mr. Doyle Friddle P.T., Wadley Regional Medical Center visits with the club Oct 15th.  We had a good time and Mr. Friddle shared many insights about the Physical Therapy profession and answered a lot of questions!  Come join us next time and help us eat pizza!Thanks Doyle!
