Communications as a career
The TC Journalism program educates not only future news professionals, but also news consumers. Building on a strong liberal arts curriculum, the journalism course of study offers concentrations in print and layout, and emphasizes professional responsibility, writing skills, research techniques, and the cultivation of a broad field of knowledge.
In addition to their journalism courses, students can take courses in history, political science, economics, foreign languages, accounting and other areas that will enhance their approach to the substance of journalism. Students so trained will better understand the issues they cover as journalists, and they will better be able to evaluate coverage as news consumers.
