Wireless Connectivity

  1. Connect to the wireless network TC GUEST.
  2. Open a web browser window to automatically view the Texarkana College TC GUEST Welcome Page.
  3. Enter your email address. (It is not a requirement to use an @texarkanacollege.edu address)
  4. Read the Acceptable Use Protocol.
  5. Click the “Accept” button.

Library Instruction

Faculty members should call either Tonja Mackey (3028) or Connie Brian (3027) to schedule library instruction for their classes.  Alternatively, email Tonja.Mackey@texarkanacollege.edu .  Instructors may schedule library instruction during any hours the college is open.  Library staff can visit the classroom to provide instruction in the use of electronic resources, or classes can visit the library.  A few online tutorials are also available.  Library staff members are also available to visit the Atlanta on Main and TexAmericas facilities.

Library staff members are available during regular hours to provide individuals or groups of students instruction in the use of library resources.  Throughout the semester, workshops and classes are also held in the second floor classroom.  Dates and times will be posted in the library and notices will be sent through TC Today.

 TexShare Card

  • TexShare Card – Students may use the TexShare Library card to borrow materials from libraries participating in TexShare  (a resource sharing program among public colleges,  private colleges, universities and public libraries in Texas, designed to improve library services to Texans.)  List of participating libraries can be found at http://www.texshare.edu/generalinfo/about/programs.html.  TexShare cards may be obtained by filling out a form and retuning it  to the Circulation Department of either Palmer Memorial Library, or John F. Moss Library at Texas A&M University – Texarkana.  A copy of your student ID must be included.  TexShare cards must be renewed each semester.

 Cell Phones

  • TEXTING is encouraged, keep sound levels as low as possible.
  • Cell Phone ring tones must be silenced inside the library; please set profile to vibrate.
  • Answer quickly. Ask to return the call, then do so after exiting the library.
  • All conversations must be conducted outside the building.

 Food and Drink Policy

  • Snack Items are allowed on the first floor in the casual seating area. Snack items are:
    • Hard candy
    • Granola, cereal, or breakfast bars
    • Dried fruit
  • Only drinks in Approved (see photos below) containers are allowed in the library.

To Renew Books

The loan periods & item limits:

  1. Main Collection: two week loan, 10 item limit.
  2. Juvenile collection: two week loan, 10 item limit.
  3. McNaughton: two week loan, 5 item limit. 

You may renew items one time without visiting the library - either online or via phone.  Once an item has been renewed by phone or online you may not renew again without bringing the items back to the library.  Items mustbe renewed online before the due date. If the item is due, online renewal is not available and the student must to come into the library to renew the materials.
