Academic OneFile – This database is a sophisticated, current, and easy-to-use resource for extensive research.  It contains a wide expanse of topics with full-text articles in both PDF and HTML format enabling researchers to find accurate information quickly.

Book Review Digest – This resource brings together book reviews on a wide range of topics from a variety of sources.

Directory of Open Access Journals – Free, full-text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals covering all subjects and many languages.

Funk and Wagnall’s New Encyclopedia

MasterFILE Premier – Contains full-text for nearly 1700 periodicals covering general reference, business, health, education, general science, multicultural issues and much more.  This database also contains full-text for more than 500 reference books, over 107,000 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of over 592,000 photos, maps, and flags.

Research Library – From business and political science to literature and psychology, ProQuest Research Library provides one-stop access to a wide range of popular academic subjects.

WilsonWeb – This interface contains many databases on a wide range of subjects that include Applied Science and Technology, Biological & Agricultural Index Plus, Book Review Digest Plus, Education Index, Essay and General Literature, General Science, Humanities and Social Science, Index to Legal Periodicals and Books, Library Literature and Information Science, Readers Guide, Short Story Index, and Social Sciences Full-text.

Business Abstracts with full-text

Business Source Complete - Journal ranking studies reveal that Business Source Complete is the overwhelmingly superior database for full-text journals in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance and economics.  Includes indexing and abstracts for the over 1300 important scholarly business journals, dating back as far as 1886.

Enhanced Business Search Interface – Offering the same content as Business Source Complete (above), this interface is designed to meet the needs of corporate researchers, enables users to sort results by source type (academic journals, trade publications, industry profiles), and provides browsing options related to business research, such as by Company, Industry, Author, Subject, or Publication.

Alt Health Watch – This database focuses on the many perspectives of complimentary, holistic, and integrated approaches to health care and wellness.

CINAHL with Full-text – CINAHL provides indexing of the top nursing and allied health literature available including nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses’ Association.  Literature covers a wide range of topics including nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines.

Consumer Health Complete – A comprehensive resource for consumer-oriented health content.  It is designed to support the information needs of patients and to foster an overall understanding of health-related topics.  CHC provides content covering all areas of health and wellness from mainstream medicine to the many perspectives of complimentary, holistic, and integrated medicine.

Health Reference Center Academic – This database provides access to the full-text of nursing and allied health journals, plus a wide variety of personal health information sources.

Health Source:  Nursing/Academic Edition – This database provides over 500 scholarly full-text journals focusing on many medical disciplines.

Health Source:  Nursing/Consumer Edition – Provides access to nearly 80 full-text consumer health magazines providing information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine, and general health.

Medline – Created by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE is an authoritative bibliographic database that contains citations and abstracts for biomedical and health journals used by health care professionsals, nurses, clinicians and researchers engaged in clinical care, public health and health policy development.

Medline Plus - MedlinePlus is the National Institute of Health’s Website for patients and their families and friends.  Produced by the National Library of Medicine, it brings information about diseases, conditions, and wellness issues in an understandable language.  Users can use MedlinePlus to learn about the latest treatments, look up information on a drug or supplement, find out the meaning of words, or view medical videos or illustrations.  Users can also get links to the latest medical research on topics or find out about clinical trials on diseases or conditions.

Natural and Alternative Treatments – A complementary and alternative medicine database designed specifically for the consumer-health researcher.

PubMed - PubMed comprises more than 22 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books.  Citations may include lines to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web site.

History, Geneology, and Government Resources

Bibliography of Native North Americans – This bibliographic database covers all aspects of native North American culture, history, and life including a wide range of topics.  It contains more than 141,000 citations for books, essays, journal articles, and government documents of the United States and Canada.  It is an essential research tool for anthropologists, educators, historians, political scientists, sociologists, psychologists, legal and medical researchers, linguists, theologians, ethnobotanists, and policy makers.

Digital Texas Sanborn Maps – Produced for over a century, more than 666,000 Sanborn maps chart the growth and development of more than 12,000 American towns and cities.  Sanborn maps are large-scale plans of a city or town, drawn at a scale of 50 feet to an inch.  They were created to assist fire insurance companies as they assessed the risk associated with insuring a particular property.  The maps list street blocks and building numbers in use at the time the map was made and previous numbers.

GPO (Government Printing Office) Access – The core mission of Keeping America Informed, dated to 1813 when Congress determined to make information regarding the work of the three branches of Government available to all Americans.  The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) provides publishing and dissemination services for the official and authentic government publications to Congress, Federal agencies, Federal depository libraries, and the American public.

HeritageQuest – This is a comprehensive treasury of American genealogical sources rich in unique primary sources, local and family histories, and finding aids.  Includes the U.S. Federal Censuses, genealogy and local history books, periodical sources, Revolutionary War records, Freedman’s Bank records, and the LexisNexis U.S. Serial Set.

Military and Government Collection – Designed to offer current full-text news through a collection of periodicals, academic journals and other content pertinent to the increasing needs for all branches of the military and government.

Political Science Complete – This database provides extensive full-text coverage on global political topics with a worldwide focus, reflecting the globalization of contemporary political discourse and designed specifically for students, researchers, and government institutions.

Texas Reference Center – Includes more than 80 full-text journals and books about Texas history, ethnical and cultural diversity, gender studies, literature, public health, and business as well as home and garden and sports and leisure.  Contains biographies portraying famous historical and contemporary Texans.  Also includes the Spanish-language newspaper El Sol de Texas and national news coverage.

Texas State Historical Association – A digital gateway to Texas history.  Includes the Handbook of Texas Online, Southwestern Historical Quarterly, and the Texas Almanac.

U.S. History in Context – Includes more than 185,000 reference articles, select articles from more than 95 new reference titles, 73,000 images, 9100 viewpoint essays, 5000 primary documents, video and audio from NBC, NPR, and other reliable sources, and the ability to cross-search World History in Context.

World History Collection – With content from Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe and the Middle East, this database contains cover-to-cover full-text for a variety of authoritative titles, including many peer-reviewed journals.  These information sources offer a wide range of historical topics including anthropology, art, culture, economics, government, heritage, military, politics, regional issues, and more.

K-12 Education and Teaching

Education Research CompleteEducation Research Complete covers areas of curriculum instruction as well as administration, policy, funding, and related social issues.  The database provides indexing and abstracts for thousands of journals, as well as full-text for over one thousand journals.  Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing.  This database also includes full-text for hundreds of books and monographs as well as for numerous education-related conference papers.

Educational Administration Abstracts – This research database includes bibliographic records covering areas related to educational administration, including educational leadership, educational management, educational research and other areas of key relevance to the discipline.  Records are selected from the most important sources within the discipline such as Educational Administration Quarterly, Review of Higher Education,  and Journal of Educational Administration.

ERIC – The Education Resource Information Center provides access to education literature and resources.  This database provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index.

Kids Search Interface –  Provides elementary students in grades K-8 with an easy-to-use, graphically-appealing interface they can use to search their EBSCO databases.

MAS Ultra School Edition – Designed specifically for high school libraries, this database contains full-text for hundreds of popular high school magazines covering a wide range of subject areas including history, science, careers, and much more.

Middle Search Plus – This database contains full-text for a variety of popular middle school magazines.  All full-text articles are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles).  Full-text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays.

Primary Search – Containing full-text for more than 80 of the most popular elementary school magazines, Primary Search is designed specifically for elementary school libraries.

Professional Development Collection – Includes full-text coverage of more than 500 high-quality education journals including Booklist, Education, Education Digest, Education Week, Educational Leadership, High School Journal, Journal of Education, Journal of Educational Research, Phi Delta Kappan, Reading Teacher, School Library Jouranal, and many others.

Student Research Center Interface – Designed for students in grades 6-12, SRC provides students in secondary schools with the most appropriate research tools to easily obtain the information that they need from the EBSCO databases.

TOPICsearch – In using this database, teachers, librarians, and student researchers can explore current events, social, political, and economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics frequently discussed in the classroom.  Contains full-text for thousands of articles from diverse sources including international newspapers, periodicals, biographies, public opinion polls, book reviews, pamphlets, and government documents.
