Library Services for Distance Education Students

Students enrolled in online courses or taking courses at a remote site have equal access to library materials.  All Electronic Resources are available through the myTC username and password.  This includes eBooks.

Distance Education students can use the Online Catalog to search for books in the Palmer Memorial Library.  This is the combined online catalog for Texarkana College and Texas A&M University-Texarkana.  Students at the Atlanta on Main and Texamericas sites may request books to be sent to their site by emailing Melba.Surman@texarkanacollege.edu .  In the subject of the email put either “student request from Atlanta on Main” or “student request from Texamericas.”  We will check the books out to you and send them by an instructor who is traveling to your site.  The checkout limit is ten books per student and they check out for two weeks at a time.  A fine of twenty-five cents per day per book is assessed on books that become overdue.

Films on Demand - searchable database of hundreds of films and filmclips on various topics.  Call the library (903-823-3215) for the username and password.  You will be asked to verify your identity as a current Texarkana College student before you are given the username and password.

TexShare Cards

Distance education students may use the TexShare Library card to borrow materials from libraries participating in TexShare (a resource sharing program among public colleges, private colleges, universities and public libraries in Texas, designed to improve library services to Texans.) List of participating libraries can be found at https://www.tsl.texas.gov/landing/programs.html. TexShare cards may be requested by emailing Holly.Cook@texarkanacollege.edu .  In the subject line of your email, put “student TexShare Card request.”
