KTXK
FM is Texarkana's Public Radio Station, serving Texarkana and the
surrounding areas with news and information, fine arts, jazz, and
easy listening music. KTXK is a member of National Public
Radio and American Public Media.
KTXK FM began broadcasting on February 1, 1984 and has
shown continuous growth and maturity as a public radio station our
listeners can be proud. When we started we had no network affiliation
and very few concerts from the major symphonies around the world. We
didn't even have a satellite until 1990, but since then we have seen
tremendous growth and maturity. KTXK's broadcast day is 24 hours a
day, seven days a week. KTXK now operates with a power of 100,000
watts.
Financial support is derived almost entirely from the
business and corporate underwriters of this station plus the listener
members. Without this financial support, we would be forced to
drop many of our network programs. It is important for you to know
how important your contribution is to KTXK and how the public views
your support of this station. We hope you will decide that an
investment in Public Radio is an investment by your company in the
future of this station and that the public will indeed recognize that
support by letting you know about it either through their patronage
of you business, or by simply letting you know how they appreciate
