FAFSA. To apply for student financial aid, you'll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also called the FAFSA. The FAFSA provides information the financial aid office needs to determine your financial need for federal and state programs, including the TEXAS Grant. Click the FAFSA logo below to apply online. Remember to apply as soon as possible after January 1st for the following school year, since funding is limited.
ACG. An Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) provides up to $750 for the first year of undergraduate study and up to $1,300 for the second year of undergraduate study. The program for first year students who graduated from high school after January 1, 2006 and for second year students who graduated from high school after January 1, 2005 is based on program of study completed during high school. The Academic Competitiveness Grant award is in addition to the student's Pell Grant award.
FSEOG. A Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is for undergraduates with exceptional financial need, that is, students with the lowest Expected Family Contributions, and gives priority to students who receive Federal Pell Grants. The Expected Family Contribution is determined based on information provided by the student on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A FSEOG does not have to be paid back.
