This semester, the Texarkana College Office of the Dean of Students is sponsoring the Spring 2014 Take Charge Health & Fitness Challenge for TC students, faculty, and staff. This will be a great way for you to participate in a week-long initiative that brings awareness to the importance of staying active and physically fit as well as finding time to enjoy the wonderful Pinkerton Center we have access to on our campus.
The week will consist of members of a three person team completing challenges in the Pinkerton Center beginning, Thursday, April 17th and ending Wednesday, April 23rd. Teams will be competing in the following categories:
· Soft Ball Toss Challenge
· Golf Putting Challenge
· Basketball Shot Challenge
· Tennis Challenge
· The Bean Bag Toss Challenge
Upon completion of each challenge, team members will register their scores. Results will be tallied and awards for the highest achieving teams will be announced at the campus-wide Spring Fling event on Thursday, April 24th.
To participate in the Take Charge Challenge, a team must identify three members (one must be a female member) and come up with a name for their team. This information must be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org before April 17th.
There will be two divisions of competition- a student division and a faculty/staff division. There will be gold, silver, and bronze medals presented to the winners of each division. The team with the highest number of points from both divisions will be presented with a trophy for being the overall winner.
The five different challenges must be completed at the Texarkana College Pinkerton Center. Teams can complete the challenges in any order and on any day or time that the Pinkerton Center is open. The rules and scoring for each of the five different challenges are attached to this letter.
