Bookstore Clerk

Description: The Texarkana College Bookstore is currently seeking applicants to fill the position of full time College Bookstore Clerk. This Bookstore clerk position serves customers by purchasing, receiving, merchandising and overseeing the entire sales experience.
Duties:
  • Ensures inventory integrity through adhering to receiving processes and labeling accuracy.
  • Pursues excellence to protect against shrinkage and to remain audit compliant.
  • Maintains inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels; anticipating customer demand, performing cycle counts regularly.
  • Responsible for cash management including: balancing tills, monitoring and maintaining reserve funds, change orders, reports for Bookstore and Bulldog Bistro.
  • Performs Opening and Closing duties as needed.
  • Adheres to College’s purchasing procedures.
  • Helps customers (Faculty, Staff, Students, Community)by providing information; answering questions; obtaining merchandise requested; completing payment transactions; billing departmental sales; preparing merchandise for delivery.
  • Inventory procurement.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and appealing store presentation.
  • Assist in training store staff.
  • Attracts customers to the bookstore by originating display ideas; following display suggestions or schedules;  utilizing merchandise displays forwindows, showcases, and sales floor.
  • Work hours flexible in cooperation with other staff members
  • Other duties as assigned.

Welding Technology Department Part-Time Lab Assistant

Description: Welding Technology Department-Part time Lab Assistant
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Excellent communication and human relation skills and the ability to challenge and motivate.
  • Must be well organized, fair and unbiased.
  • Must be capable of maintaining an atmosphere that fosters learning.
  • Must possess a Texas driver’s license.
  • Prefer a certificate of diploma in Welding Technology with 3 years of work experience in the Welding Technology field
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Lab Assistant for the Evening Welding Technology Department
  • Develop, revise, maintain current inventory and keep track of all lab supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Set up lab activities and help deliver an exceptional hands-on lab experience: maintain order and discipline: help to test and evaluate student progress in the lab.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for Welding Technology students. Actively participates in recruitment and placement.
  • Keep current in technical and professional knowledge and actively participates in the team management concept of the college.
  • Assist instructors and department head in developing lab activities that help meet course objectives and improve overall student performance.

Other duties as assigned by Department Head.

Salary: Commensurate within the Texarkana College pay scale for Welding Technology Lab Assistants.
