Texarkana College has a rich tradition of preparing students for rewarding careers in agriculture. Graduates of the program have moved on into diverse areas such as agricultural marketing, professional schools, pharmaceutical companies, academia, agricultural education and private business. Many of our students have successfully transferred to leading agricultural science programs such as Oklahoma State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Commerce and Texas Tech University.

Our faculty are committed to providing "cutting edge" theoretical concepts in our teaching that are supported by "real world," practical techniques. The goal of our Agricultural Science curriculum is to prepare each student for the challenges that lie ahead in continued study in the classroom at the university level and beyond.  Agricultural Science at Texarkana College is a community based program that is focused on small intensive classroom and laboratory instruction. Our Agricultural program enrollment over the past several years has averaged approximately 20 - 25 students. As a result, our class sizes are small and provide many opportunities for one on one instruction.
Students are our number one priority at TC!

We have an active student club, TC Agricultural Science Club, that provides opportunities for education, leadership, and social interaction among students. The club is an institutional member of the Texas Junior College Agricultural Association and travels to the annual state meeting each spring. These meetings are normally held at a University and provide opportunities to learn about many University level agricultural programs. In addition, students are encouraged to compete in individual academic contests. The Ag Club plays a large role in the annual Ag Judging Contest that Texarkana College hosts every spring for regional high schools and 4-H clubs. This past spring we hosted approximately 500 area youth on campus for the event.

The facilities that are used in our daily instruction are depicted below. These include a 360 acre working / demonstration teaching farm, teaching greenhouse, and modern classroom and laboratory facilities.
