CLASS ATTENDANCE: As an adult learner, you must assume responsibility for attending lecture classes and laboratories. It is to your benefit to be present at each class session.
You should make every effort to be present in each class because:

TC has a class attendance policy (TC Student Handbook pg. 28). The maximum number of absences in a summer 5 week semester course are two (2). The only excused absences are for officially recognized TC student club activities or for Texarkana College official business. Three tardies are equivalent to one absence.

Please Note: Illness and doctor appointments do not qualify as excused absences.

If situations make it necessary for missing class or lab you are still responsible for all the work you missed during class and lab.  If you miss class, you should let me know ASAP and in advance if at all possible. I can give you the assignments to help you remain current in the course.

Regular and punctual attendance is expected. I reserve the right to lock the door after class begins in order to prevent habitual tardy students from distracting the class.

Per the TC Student handbook, No Cell Phones or pagers or any other private electronic communications device are allowed in this classroom.

If any electronic device (that has not been cleared by the instructor)  is used during any exam the student will receive a grade of zero (0) for that exam. If there is a repeat offense the student will be dropped from the course with a grade of F.

The Texarkana College Student Handbook states that all electronic devices (e.g. tape recorders, etc.) brought into class must be cleared by the instructor for use in the classroom. Please check with me prior to using a recording device.

If circumstances develop (e.g. extended illness, moving from the city, etc.) which necessitates your withdrawal from this or any other course be sure to officially withdraw in the Director of Admissions office located in the Administration building. The date each semester is posted on the inside page of the current Texarkana College Catalog under "Academic Calendar". This is your responsibility!! A grade of W is recorded on your permanent transcript if you withdraw before the official deadline . If you wait beyond the deadline, you will receive an automatic grade of F.

CLASS CONDUCT: Of course you are expected to conduct yourself in an adult manner at all times. This certainly does not mean we can't be informal and/or "laid back" in class, but please refrain from any behavior such as excessive disruptive talking, offensive language, habitual tardiness or other activities that will disturb or distract your fellow students. Any such action will result in an oral warning from the instructor on the first offense. If the action is repeated the student will be asked to leave and drop the course at the admissions office.

CHEATING POLICY: DO NOT CHEAT !!

Texarkana College believes that a basic purpose of an education is to enable to pursue truth. Fundamental to that process is complete and practical honesty. Cheating in any form compromises and demeans the very concept of truth. Those who attempt to engage in cheating in any form whether plagiarism or copying on a test or exam, or outside assignment, (with the exception of clearly identified cooperative assignments) will be notified in writing and dropped by the instructor with the grade of F.

By signing below I acknowledge that I have read and understand what is expected of me to perform satisfactorily in this coarse of study.  I also understand that any photographs and or audio or video recordings taken of me or my colleagues during class or laboratory are the exclusive property of Texarkana College and may be used for educational research and or promotion of the educational mission of Texarkana College.
